MUSICIANS

  • ACKONCAHUAK

    AckonCahuak is a Quechua name meaning “stone sentinel”and the name was adopted as we are the custodians of the music of the Andes.

    When we say music of the Andes we are referring to the Area which was the Inca empire, covering from Colombia to North of Chile and Argentina. Before the Spanish influence the natives of South America used the pentatonic scale, and only bamboo flutes ( sikus ) and drums ( bombos) were used.

    Also the Spaniards brought the stringed instruments which the natives copied and adapted the tuning to the local music and folklore.

    This group was formed in 2007 with six musicians with some of them now live in Japan and Chile, this graoup has two of the original members and two new vary talented musicians Zola on violin and Marco on vocals.

  • BRANAN SILVIUS

    Branan is a raga music vocalist with a passion for the Indian Bhakti traditions. Trained in India in the ancient Classical form called dhrupad, he has forged a unique style that inter-weaves many threads of musical expression. His artistic path has been lit by sonic encounters with the Sacred and powered by a sense that music can change the world.

  • ECHO OMEN

    Echo Omen is all about rhythm - in both music and life. The alias of Great Southern

    Western Australian-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist

    Matthew Bracknell, Echo Omen crafts soulful, atmospheric sounds from acoustic folk

    to downtempo indietronica and abstract hip-hop.

  • CHAKANA

    Maria Laura Briones is a multi-instrumentalist passionate about music as a means of healing. Over the last 15 years, she has devoted her life to collecting and learning sacred chants from various cultures around the world. In 2021, she brought to life the Chakana project with the intention of creating "sonic journeys" that allow people to experience the transformative power of music within themselves. These journeys can range from gentle sound meditations to tribal rhythms that invite dancing, connecting individuals with their deepest essence.

    Her musical sets are based on a selection of loops and live performances with ethnic instruments. Charango, American flutes, Lakota drum, koshi bells, ocarina and rattle are her favorites ones in live set. Maria Laura Briones firmly believes that music is medicine, capable of raising our vibrations and leading us to states of peace while connecting us with our inner selves. Her dedication to music as a healing tool and her passion for sharing this experience with others make ChaKana an inspiring presence in the world of music and spirituality.

  • LUZ DEL BOSQUE

    From the jungles of Brazil and the Peruvian mountains, to the Mexican Deserts and beyond, LUZ DEL BOSQUE will take you on a journey through the Americas and Europe with a unique blend of sacred world music. Coming together with a love for South American song, Eastern music and the Spanish Guitar, Amity Culver sings in languages spanning the world including Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Yawanawa, Quechua, Hebrew, Nahuatl and Hunikuin while guitarist Karl Hiller weaves magic and joy under his fingers. LUZ DEL BOSQUE play exciting and soulful adaptations of traditional songs where the old worlds meet the new in a wholly unique style of music from the heart.

  • DRYAD DREAMING

    Mark Johnson is a multi percussionist that facilitates sound journeys through the sonic resonance of the hand pan. As the audience interprets the sound into self expression, he adapt the performance to ensure it is a unique experience, encompassing nature and people into one sound.

  • SACRED WORLD MUSIC CHOIR

    The Sacred World Music Choir, based in Margaret River, are a community based women's choir, singing songs from cultures all over the world.

    We have been performing for our community and surrounding festivals for the past couple of years. The power of our choir is somatic and offers a deep remembrance and power through song. Our song is one of prayer and healing for the earth and humanity.

    Their Conductor Laura, is a passionate Argentinian musician, whose parents were choir conductors in Argentina. Laura has lived and breathed choir her whole life, and with her love for music, women and ancient song, she has birth a powerhouse community choir, full of heart and raw power.

    Their songs range from African, Cuban, Spanish, Aramaic, Gaelic, First nations Australian and Native American medicine songs for the audience to receive.

  • PACAL

    Multi-instrumentalist musician from Chile,

    Pacal travels with his music participating in festivals and in various musical projects, his musical beginnings are from the year 97 counting if with more than 26 years of experience, he has played in festivals such as Lollapalooza, Earthdance, and visited countries with his music USA,Brazil Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia,Venezuela, Lebanon, Egypt, Dubai, India, Hawaii, in these last two years he has been recording in electronic and organic music projects creating new hybrid sounds, his main instruments are the guitar, flute and percussion

  • FOURTH STATE TURIYA - Solo

    Fourth State Turiya are a Perth electronic act known for their dreamy yet upbeat conscious electronica.

    Forming in 2018 after a chance meeting from different worlds and deciding to join creative forces, local roots singer/songwriter Leah Miche and Italian born Producer Edoardo Moriconi have developed their sound over the past 5 years from trip hop inspired, downtempo releases to vibrant dance tracks which have led to curating live ecstatic dance events throughout Perth.

    Leah's divinely inspired vocals weave effortlessly throughout the set to invoke deep reflection of our shared Spirit while Ed's masterful beats create energy to move wildly and free throughout the dance.

    Leah will be representing the duo at Ancient Roots Festival infusing a more meditative movement to the start and building into what will sure to be a journey into bliss filledness!

  • JARRAH

    Jarrah’s music creates an authentic space to rest and drop into the sacred love of nature. This is raw poetic music from stillness to storm, a nourishing bitter-sweet love affair with inner peace and the mystery of existence. Authentic, eloquent, tender and fierce Jarrah's music is dedicated to true being and love for the Earth.

  • SI MULLUMBY

    Global troubadour of sound Si Mullumby specializes in the dissolution of the boundary between the performer and the audience. His fundamental belief in the musical power of each and every human being entices the musical spirit in all of us to step forth. The group energy weaves into profound collective experiences with song, with movement and with the cosmos, inside and out.

    Si is a world renown didgeridoo player and multi-instrumentalist. He has played countless concerts all over the world for more than two decades, however he prefers smaller intimate gatherings where he can put his feet on the ground and breath a sigh of relief.

  • LEE CUMMINGS

    OFFERING: ‘Upbeat Inspirations’. Lee will be giuding a group drumming workshop (all drums provided by Lee), Facilitating an experimental percussion session. Always taylor made, unique and often completely improvised, the “interactive experiences” Lee leads are created to remind every single participant that we ALL have rhythm (that we are ALL musical beings) and how intuitive, liberating, powerful, easy and FUN drumming truly can be!

    Lee is an Upbeat character and a South West local of Maori descent. He discovers fresh and vibrant Inspirations every day through his deep connection to rhythm combined with his profound love of drumming and dedication to spreading joy!

    Lee has enjoyed decades of amazing experiences and success throughout WA and around the world (especially Southern Africa where he lived for many years), performing with bands on drum kit, with DJs on various percussion instruments and facilitating group, community and corporate team building sessions with traditional hand drums.

  • JAYA PENELOPE

    Poet and storyteller Jaya Penelope is an advocate for the power of traditional oral storytelling to rewild, heal and re-connect us to both human and other-worlds. She specialises in sharing stories from sacred women's traditions around the world. She has performed poetry, told stories and taught workshops at festivals, schools and libraries across WA. She facilitates Women's Creative Writing Circles and Sacred Story Circles regularly from her home in Walyalup/Fremantle

  • MARCIA SMITH

    Sound is an ancient tool, an art and communion with ones self and all that is. Using the medicine of the Gongs, voice and Drum, Marcia will bathe you in the frequencies required for that moment. Channelling for the Individual, Community and the Collective, offering you a space to journey with your Soul for guidance, clarity, insight, healing, peace and anything you intend.

    The Vibration of the gongs creates waves of energy expanding the consciousness. The vibrations/sound from these penetrates the cells of the body, reaching places for healing the mind cannot go.

    Accompanied by her vocals which range from deep Earth tones to Angelic resonance, and the power of the medicine drum, she weaves the sound seamlessly together to provide a landscape for the senses to reach, touch and return to self.

  • LENA DIARMADA

    {Yoga:}, to yoke – describes the unity of mind, body spirit.

    Lena’s intuitive integrative yoga classes are a journey of movement and stillness, through your body, into your being, to anchor you deeply in your inner seat and center.

    Calming your mind, slowing and deepening your breath, her classes intuitively guide you into embodied presence, releasing tension, grounding deeply and opening your body, heart, and meridians, while resetting your nervous system.

    Come as you are, leave anchored in your body, ease and flow.

    WORKSHOP: 'Sacred Voice: Singing as sadhana'. Learn to use your voice to create a meditative and devotional practice, and contemplate some of the traditional approaches to this path.

    Andrew from Rewild Margaret River will be offering:

    Wild Games & Wild Wander: Kids, and big kids at heart, are welcome to join for some exhilarating games and engaging nature-connection activities. Expect your senses to be awakened, to have a blast and a good laugh! Activities for kids 7+ (younger kids to be accompanied by an adult)

  • KATE ANDREWS

    Workshop: Kids/ Everyone Creative Workshops

    Wild Creative is run by art and eco therapist, wildschooling mother of two Kate Andrews.

    All workshops and programs support human beings of all ages with their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health, utilising the innate wisdom of nature, movement, art therapy, music and yoga.

    Kate brings a grounded presence to all her work, riding the line between taking a deep dive and recognising spiritual, personal work is balanced by playfulness and laughter.

    Each offering is held with warmth, reverence for those who are present, focusses on process over outcome and supports individual expression.

  • MICHELINE (MISH) FOWLER

    OFFERING: Mish will be facilitating and supporting co-creation in the ceremony spaces. She will be offering her voice and heart as a ceremonialist throughout the gathering.

    Mish offers a groundig approach to her offerings, supporting a coming together with the collective, unifying hearts and breath. Mish has 9 years of experience as a facilitator, merging multi- modilities within the space she holds to allow for the natural intelligence of the collective to flow as it is meant to.

    Awakening Harmony: Meditation Workshop at the Music Medicine Festival

    Start the day with peace and mindfulness at our "Awakening Harmony" meditation workshop. Begin with simple stretching to wake up your body, followed by guided breathing exercises to calm your mind. Experience a relaxing meditation that helps you feel grounded and connected to the world around you. We’ll end with a special meditation focused on spreading love and kindness. No previous experience needed—just bring a yoga mat and come ready to relax and recharge.

  • KAROLINA KOZIARA

    Workshop: Kids Yoga & Kids Song Circle

    Karolina is a yoga teacher, singer, circus performer, mum and in service for community. “I am so grateful my journey has taken me here and now and that i can live fullfilling life surround with like mind people where i feel strong, inspired and supported. I am looking forward to sharing joys of music and celebration of mother nature with all of you”

  • DOUGLAS COONEY

    Offering: Morning Qigong.

    Douglas Cooney has been on the path of health and transformation for the past 20 years. It's led him across the globe and back to Margs (again and again!) with the main themes being Group work, Osho Active Meditations, Tantra and Qigong.

    Douglas has facilitated Weekend Retreats and public gatherings over the years.

    He loves to create a Safe Heart Space and help others to Remember who they truly are.

  • BROOK THOMAS

    Brook Thomas Turner-Mann is a Bungalung Man (Tweed coast) and has resided here within the South West community on Wadandi Boodja for 15 years. He is a surfer, a bushman, a carpenter, an expedition leader, a mentor, a cultural speaker and a circus performer. He has spent 12 years as a park ranger and 6 years at sea in the Kimberley as Cruise Director, through all of that, Brook has been a storyteller and a Didgeridoo player. He will be weaving together the threads of his experiences into a story song for you by the fire.

ARTISTS

Land Artist- Elaine Clocherty

We are absolutely honoured to have the incredible Elaine weaving her art onto the land, blessing the space with ceremonial type artistry. Her work is sacred. She has a deep connection with this land and the custodians of this land, it feels so incredibly special to have her be a part of this offering.

Elaine will create her art, leaving space to invite participants to co- create together, adding to it throughout the weekend together.

“As a Land Artist, I work directly in the landscape, using found local natural materials and allow the stories and characteristics of a place to directly inform the work.  With a BA Fine Art and BA (Honours) Public Policy/Social Ecology, I have been involved in many outdoor exhibitions nationally and internationally, including Sculpture By The Sea, Cottesloe, Bondi, Aarhus, Land Art Poland, Guandu Sculpture Exhibition, Taiwan and know Nature, India.

Passionate about helping communities connect with Nature, I have facilitated many Community Land Artworks.”
